Enlisted at Gayndah, 19/09/1914 age 22 years. His next of kin (NOK), Mother, Mrs Sarah Stapleton, Clifton. On enlistment he was 6ft 1, weighed 140 lbs and stated his occupation as a Saddler. He left Australia for service overseas. He was wounded 1916. Returned to Australia and discharged 1918.
