SLEEP, Frederick James

His next of kin (NOK), Mother Mrs. Eliza Sleep of Gooroolba. On enlistment he was 5 ft 8 inch and weighed 144 lbs and stated his occupation as a Farmer.

 

He enlisted with the Australian Naval and Military Expeditionary Force 14/08/1914 for the capture of Germany New Guinea but did not take part due to the ship having to return to Townsville on account of the trouble caused by the firemen on the Troopship and was discharged on the 18/09/1914. He then enlisted with the AIF at Brisbane on the 24/02/1916 at age 28 years.
