SAVAGE, Robert John

Enlisted at Brisbane on the 12/01/1916 age 38 years. His next of kin (NOK), Mother Mrs. Ann Jane Savage of Cambooya. On enlistment he was 5ft 5, weighed 146 lbs and stated his occupation as a Farmer.

He was reported wounded and Missing in Action at Moquet Farm on the 04/09/1916. In 1927 his remains were located with his Identity disc and laid to rest. His Identity Disc was sent to his Mother. (Miss Myrtle Savage informed me that he was farming at Binjour before the War and that he was with his friend L/Cpl Fred Marriott MM who also was working at Binjour.

This is verified in Fred Marriott MM Dossier as Fred was wounded with gunshot wound to left side and arm 04/09/1916 at the same time as Pte Savage went missing.
