Enlisted at Brisbane 17/09/1915 age of 32 years. His next of kin (NOK), Mother, Mrs Bridget Matthews, Byrnestown.
On enlistment he was 5ft 5, weighed 133 lbs and stated his occupation as a Shearer. Unit embarked from Brisbane. He was wounded 1916 with a gunshot wound to his left elbow. He returned to Australia and discharged 04/04/1917.
