Enlisted at Brisbane 05/10/1915 age 25years. His next of kin (NOK), Wife, Mrs M. Lake, Gayndah. On enlistment he was 5ft 10, weighed 126 lbs and stated his occupation as a Machinist.
Unit embarked from Brisbane, 31/01/ 1916. He was awarded the Military Medal (MM) for “Great bravery while on patrol duty, assuming leadership in absence of officer”. He returned to Australia and discharged 06/04/1919.
