Enlisted at Brisbane 15/03/1916 age 22 years. His address on enlistment was Byrnestown, Gayndah. His next of kin (NOK), Mother, Mrs Norah Hickey, Byrnestown.
On enlistment he was 5ft 5, weighed 134 lbs and stated his occupation as a Farmer. On the 26/05/1918 he was wounded with a gas shell. On the 15/05/1919 he married Nellie Florence Wheeler in England. He returned to Australia with wife and discharged 10/11/1919.
