Enlisted at Maryborough 09/02/1915 age 27 years. His address was Didcot. His next of kin (NOK), Father, Mr Benjamin Funnell, Gayndah. On enlistment he was 5ft 10, weighed 146 lbs and stated his occupation as a Farmer. He was wounded 07/09/1917 with a gunshot wound to left foot. He returned to Australia 07/06/1918 for discharge.
