Enlisted at Brisbane 16/03/1916 age 26 years. His next of kin (NOK), Father, Mr John Chay, Wattlebrae, Wetheron, Gayndah.

 

On enlistment he was 5ft 5, weighed 135 lbs and stated his occupation as a Farmer. Was wounded on the 27/06/1917 with gunshot wound to knee and chest. He returned to Australia and discharged 18/12/1917.
