Enlisted at Gayndah 17/10/1914 at age 36 years. His next of kin (NOK), Friend, James Ginever, Gayndah. On enlistment he was 5 ft 5 and weighed 148 lbs and stated his occupation as an Accountant.
He landed on Gallipoli 16/05/1915. He was wounded to the head 14/12/1915. He was returned to Australia in early 1917 and discharged as medically unfit.
