Enlisted at Brisbane 04/08/1916 at age 24 years. His next of kin (NOK), Mother, Mrs M. Beverley, Ipswich. On enlistment he was 5ft 11, weighed 160 lbs and stated his occupation as a Farmer at Gayndah. On the 24/07/1917 he was admitted to hospital with tonsillitis. He returned to Australia 08/05/1919 and discharged.
