Enlisted at Gayndah 18/03/1915 at age 28 years. His next of kin (NOK), Mother, Mrs Laura Beard, Tas. On enlistment he was 5ft 7 and weighed 144 lbs and stated his occupation as a Cab Driver Gayndah. His Brother was killed at Gallipoli. He returned to Australia and was discharged 28/07/1920.
