BAINES, Myles

Enlisted at Gayndah 13/05/1917 age 30 years. His next of kin (NOK), Sister, Mrs Rider, England. On enlistment he was 5ft 5, weighed 147 lbs and stated his occupation as a Cab Driver Gayndah.

 

He served on Gallipoli and in France and was awarded the Military Medal (MM) for “Showing great gallantry in observing the enemy position, firing bombs on their strong point, enabling the position to be taken and two machine guns to be captured”. He returned to Australia and was discharged 09/07/1920.
