Enlisted at Brisbane on the 12/05/1916 age 23 years. His next of kin (NOK), Mother Mrs Susan Deem of Rocky Spur Gayndah. On enlistment he was 5 ft 6 and weighed 142 lbs. Descendants of the Deem family often visit Gayndah to pay their respects.
