Enlisted at Brisbane 14/11/1917 age 26 years. His next of kin (NOK), Wife, Mrs S Clerk, Sandgate. On enlistment he was 5ft 3, weighed 112 lbs and stated his occupation as a Farmer and Grazier. He went to New Guinea on 12/06/1918. Remained there till 16/08/1919, when he returned to Australia and was discharged on 23/10/1919
